Adell M. Dankert, 84, of Sterling, formerly of Blumfield Township, Saginaw County, died late Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2009 at Meda Lodge in Sterling. She was born November 2, 1924 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Meyerhuber) Finger. On June 8, 1947 she was married to Richard L. Dankert in Saginaw. He predeceased her July 24, 2003. Adell was a graduate of the Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw and also Hurley School on Nursing in Flint. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Saginaw for several years and later went on to do private duty nursing. She was a very talented china painter, making place settings for many relatives and friends.

Surviving are children, Richard Dankert and his wife Paula of Sterling; Forrest Dankert and his wife Beth of Reese; and Katherine Fosburg of Ishpeming; five grandchildren and their spouses, Derrick and Jenny Dankert of Greenville; Brent and Jessica Dankert of Reese; Samantha and Ben Bercholtz of Nebraska; Andy Dankert and Leslie Dankert, both of St, Charles; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Jonathan Dankert. Also surviving is her brother, Donald Finger and his wife Shirley and her sister, June Siebert and her husband Harold. In addition to her parents and husband, Adell was predeceased by her son, Theodore Dankert, October 14, 2007.

Funeral services well take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Rev. Thomas Senge of the Christ Lutheran Church will officiate with burial to follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw. Mrs. Dankert's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
